Electro Pop

Who said neon belongs in the 80's? Definitely not us. We are bringing back colors abandoned 30 years ago and making them our own. Emmalee rocks the look in turquoise spandex leggings, a black knit crop top, jean button up, and bright red clogs. We put the twist on bright colors by mixing it up with trending looks right now, like crop tops and denim. Don't be afraid to mix some neon pieces into your summer wardrobe and show some skin, while keeping it classy. Layer accesories like the necklace made of bouncy balls and the other of pearls. Bright colors don’t just have to be your clothes, try some bright shades of lipstick, or eye popping shoes on top of a simple outfit. This summer change it up. Be bold and add pops of electric color!

Let's be Chic: Denim on Denim

Denim jeans are the staple pieces for most outfits so why not layer it? A slightly ripped pair of blue jeans paired with a simple white cotton top has been a classic, chic look since the 50’s. There are high-waisted jeans, mom jeans, bootcut, skinny jeans, slim, curvy, tall and petite, a buffet of choices when it comes to jeans. A favorite of the moment are boyfriend jeans. Simple is better when it comes to denim looks. To dress this up more we paired it with a jean shirt, buttoned up and tucked in with a True Religion cropped jean jacket on top. Taking it back to the cowboy era and giving it a more western feel while still keeping it modern and cool.
Olivia is wearing American Eagle distressed boyfriend jeans, paired with a button up top from Target, Steven by Steve Madden boots, and glasses from H&M.

Under the denim button up Olivia wears a casual  white crop top from Brandy Melville, which makes the look more casual, while keeping it chic.

Grunge is Back: Tighter and Lighter

Velvet has had a turn around since its last appearance in the 90’s. My So Called Life star, Claire Danes, wore heavy, oversized velvet shirts and loose maxi skirts in the brief series, aired in 1994 (no wonder the show was cancelled). Now you can find those popular 90’s skirts littering the racks at Salvation Army, and Goodwill stores everywhere. But velvets made a comeback (and a good one) in American Apparel, Urban Outfitters, and Dr.Martins stores worldwide. Body-con skirts and dresses, tight crop tops, and velvet creepers, all in exciting new colors, are bringing grunge back into fashion. Tighter, and lighter than in the 90's grunge era. Keep a look out at up to date second hand stores like Buffalo Exchange, and Crossroads for hip velvet pieces, like leggings, or tight tanks. Don’t be afraid to style it up with statement belts, or boots to add a personal pop to this irresistible texture.
Anju rocks the burgundy long-sleeve velvet dress from American Apparel, with a True Religion denim jacket, glasses from H&M, and thrifted brown ankle boots.
